I have a PS4 and am curious as to how the licensing will be handled once the console versions are released. I want to be able to run either the PC or PS4 version depending on my location and my mood.

Will the current license I have for the PC version be shared with the PS4 version or will a separate license be required?

Also, I currently have a "2316 Sky Cup Special Edition" in my account purchases that I have not yet redeemed. Can this unredeemed license be used for a console version?

We don't know at this time how the recent changes to console crossplay and cross-entitlement are going to shake out. It used to be "yes, you need to buy it separately".

However, in the last few months a whole lot has changed, often suddenly.

If it turns out that you do need to purchase it separately for the PS4 and you have an unredeemed copy, we may be able to find a way to apply it. We just don't know yet.

I'm excited to hear there will be a console release for Descent.  I had redeemed my Steam copy years ago, but I just don't use it.  I'd much rather install it on my PS4 Pro and play on my 4K display or PSVR.  I volunteer to do some testing on those platforms if possible.

Perhaps its the familiarity with how the gaming industry has been for ages, but I am okay with buying an additional copy for the PS4 (time to break out the PSVR again). Need to support those Devs! smile.png

However I wouldn't be apposed to getting a backer coupon to get it at the sale price point it was at for early backers a year or so ago.

Just so everyone is aware, we do not control the console versions, so the likelyhood of us being able to switch anyone from PC to console is very low - we will of course check into it.

The Nintendo Switch wasn't even out when this game was kick started. I'd love to get it on switch instead of PC. Any chance?

I was reviewing the Descent pre-order pages on the Gamersfirst site and it is unclear as to which version you are pre-ordering.

The title page shows a video listing  Xbox One, PS4, Steam and Nintendo Switch. The Pre-Order page lists the platforms as PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. When I get to the Confirm purchase Descent PreOrder screen I see no options to identify which version I am pre-ordering.

I did not confirm my pre-order and proceed past this screen not knowing which version I was pre-ordering.

Update:

I received a response from the CEO of Little Orbit.

Hi everyone,

The G1 pre-order is for PC, and it has a ship skin along with some other goodies. If you already have the Steam Early Access version then you’re good to go. The normal retail for the PC version will be $39.99.

All of the retail versions (Gamestop, Target, etc) are for the console version, which will come out at $49.99.

Thanks,

Matt

I have looked into the console requirements that Microsoft and Sony put on those submitting for their consoles and it's pretty insane!!     I was in on a discussion of what it took to get Overload approved for consoles and it's like those people are in a different UNIVERSE!  Gawd... it's a wonder anything is released on Consoles!

Yeah, the hoops you have to jump through are crazy - but this game deserves it.

Well, If you need someone to test on console I'm more than happy to give it a go.

Xbox One S or PS4 Pro (Prefer it to be PS4)
