I've changed my mind: can we keep predator speccing instead? That looks hilarious
Maybe a kill on the caster should be worth 2 points?
You don't need tons of money, just encourage and support volunteer community members: although if there's SOME money, that could go towards offering partnerships to those who really want to cast and admin, or generally create content, making sure lack of equipment doesn't stop it. Even just sending them assets like logos and music and keeping the comms open makes it that much more "authentic" and shows them you care (aaaawww...). I know Zaccubus and Epic made a deal like that with Zac creating frags-of-the-week style compilations (sending out stickers for first place), tutorials, and tournament coverage for Unreal Tournament.
Not having been able to keep up with the game outside the updates, I'm trying to find general notes of what features have made spectating better for me in other games:
- In any mode where an objective needs to be taken somewhere, the hud showing how close it is to its goal (e.g. both the flags in CTF) is great.
- There could be a multi-view mode that tones the graphics down just so casters can see at a glance which view they'd like to highlight. I don't know how this would look if it was in the main view the viewers see: maybe a two-screen setup would be ideal?
- X-ray vision toggle of course
- Accuracies/damage dealt and received/item control... I'm struggling to find anything more specific to this game.
EDIT: Wait, I do have one cool feature in mind. Make it show where all the frags happened (at and from) at the end of each match as glowing dots you can see through walls. I think players and specs alike will appreciate this to learn from their mistakes. Or is it pretty random in this game? Hmm...
Is there a ready-made plan for which team modes will be played in tournaments? Maybe you'll poll for that later on.
