How do you intend to use the environment to help story telling?

It's been said that you want to develop just the mining section first (with multiplayer) and expand your universe from there..  is it fair to say that most of the action will take place within our own solar system?  will you be using actual solar bodies as battlegrounds?

I hear titan is nice this time of never. :P

I know that AC_Black had compiled a list of questions that modelers were asking:

Are there any areas that people can contribute to that have not been touched on yet?

How will player respawns be handled? I am asking both from a gameplay mechanics perspective and an in-lore perspective. Will each drone rapidly "descend" from the harvester into a tunnel that leads deep inside the asteroid, thus starting out in "friendly" territory? Or will newly-respawned drones "appear" at certain points inside the asteroid, ready to fight?

I know that the early builds of the game may side with the "appears magically" option for the sake of simplicity, but the idea of being "shot" from the harvester into the asteroid (even if it's just at the very beginning of the match) seems really cool!

If in-asteroid respawns are needed, especially within huge asteroids, one cool feature could be making the respawn points "fabricator nodes". These would be smaller versions of the 3D fabricators aboard the harvesters, designed to be deployed in a combat area to supply drones to the front lines faster. An interesting game dynamic could revolve around "hacking" the enemy's fabricator nodes, claiming them for your team, or destroying them! Perhaps "support ships" could hack or repair fabricator nodes, while a combat ship's only option would be blowing the nodes to smithereens?

Another lore explanation could be that the first drone is "shot" into the asteroid, and others follow it in on autopilot before hiding. When the pilot loses a drone, he is immediately connected to a new drone that is already inside the asteroid and has been "hiding". Finding one of your enemy's hidden "respawn drones" and destroying it could give you a tactical advantage, but this should of course be no easy feat!

It's great to see this game taking form, and I'm happy to be part of such an active community. Lead onward, WingMan!

Questions in AC_Black post are many things i want to know,

about modeling, what would be nice is to model the "Official" coupling collars (male and female) and hardpoints (male and female) and give them to us in like 3DSmax and blender, maya, any format we use, so that everybody from the start can model ships part with the good parts

that way, maybe some people want to do many tails, other persons fuselage parts, and other head parts, weapons and other things going on hardpoints, and by that we get a large bank of possible parts that will always work well when linked

what do you think about this and do you think it could be done not so far in the future?

I saw you mentioned something like 18 fuselage types and 3 nose types to FireDragon.

Is that three -diameters- of noses, three -tiers- of noses, three -purposes-...?

Do the 18 fuselages fall into categories, like three -corporations- or -styles- times six -classes-?
